Pause To Inhale
Our planet keeps bombarding us with anxiety-fueling news, divisions, anger, and an overload of information that can sometimes make you feel like there is no hope. Wrong! There is always hope of better times. Some of the things I have read recently lead me to believe that certain aspects of insanity have been fueled by the past 18 months of COVID-related issues, politics, and social shifts.
But fear not. Simply take a look around you, preferably at nature, to be reminded just how small we humans are. This beautiful planet we call earth is rich with beauty and wonder....EVERYWHERE. All that is required of us is to separate ourselves from the vast machine out there that does its very best to distract us from the bigger picture. And now, in the midst of Summer, we are blessed with the fruits of Summer: flowers and all the magnificence of nature are on full display. Now is the best time to pause and observe all of this and REVEL in it.
Our time on earth is limited. Nature is so, so much bigger and important - and reliable - than all of us. Last week I was in Cabo seated on beach staring out at a vast and beautiful ocean. The miracle of nature to turn a minute seed into an exquisite bloom never ceases to amaze me. I started this morning reading the news and felt like our world is on the precipice......yet by simply shifting my eyes in another direction, I am now staring at this vast sea of earth's mid-Summer splendor.
